Dear Milletians,

Mabinogi Professional will be undergoing scheduled server maintenance during the following time:
08:44PM 03/13/18 to 01:30AM 03/14/18 (EST)
Reasons:
  • Item drops for Dragonfly Monarch were toned down somewhat.
  • Key drop is now properly guaranteed from Dragonfly Monarch.
  • Irinid Orb dungeon was made larger and given more powerful enemies.
  • Incorrect enchant description bugs were resolved.
  • Blood in the Water changes: enemies now aggro golems. Black Ship Rats now appear as rare spawns in Int and higher difficulties. Skeleton gold was increased, but end reward gold was eliminated, to discourage usage of alts. Skeletons can also multi aggro more often, to encourage usage of real parties.
  • A bug where Voight could steal some types of artifacts without compensation was fixed. Voight was reprimanded for this behavior.
  • Synthesis Crystal now tradeable properly.
  • Dragonfly Wing Dungeon now contains correct boss and rewards.
  • Wild Troll Club textures fixed.
  • Giant Ruins Lion now dislikes golems and is generally stronger.
  • Exploration exp now properly granted from Tribal Missions.
  • Hailstorm range was increased per Content Poll.
  • Taunt and Sand Burst CP range was increased per Content Poll.
  • Some exploits were fixed.

Oooh, Irinid one is finally fixed? Glad I saved up my Irinid orb for this run!

And Hailstorm range is increased? I wonder by how much.. I will have to test it!

Is there any way I, or my guildmates could convince you to reverse, or have an alternative the changes on Blood in the water? We ran it all the time when we were bored or wanted to spam it, and I don't believe a single one of us have used multiboxing methods even running dungeons, and the skeleton drops just don't seem to be a sufficient replacement for us in order to counteract multiboxing. In actuality, it's appeared to us as a solo dungeon more than anything else now, severely handicapping our 3-week ritual of running it whenever we had nothing else to do.

I know it's typically unwise to legitimately consider the gripes and complaints of new players, especially given our general inexperience with the server, however: If there are those that were strong enough to run BiTW solo and gain money from it with alts, could they not do the same with any other shadow mission, party quest, part time job or even field boss guild quest? Why then stop at expunging the end-gold from BiTW? Why not apply the same restrictions to every Shadow Mission, and party quests besides? Party quest don't even require you all to be in the same dungeon to be completed, and they're a far cry easier to complete than a 15 minute run of blood in the water at levels eclipsing my own.

I strongly urge you to reconsider the direction you've taken with the changes, which, in my opinion, have only crippled party-play with other people in the long run.

Stop Complaining about a nerf of bitw, the SM was completely broken in terms of exp/gold compared to other shadow missions. Atleast now its more in line with existing shadow missions as it should be.

I am super happy bitw finally got nerfed.

I am super happy bitw finally got nerfed.
But they didn't nerf if because it needed to be nerfed, or if that was why, they didn't say that, because their reasoning for eliminating the gold rewards at the end was to discourage the usage of alts, specifically alts, as evidenced here.
Blood in the Water changes: Skeleton gold was increased, but end reward gold was eliminated, to discourage usage of alts.

They apparently made it more difficult, increased multi-aggro and added heavystander/naturalshield rats for the benefit of what I assume is a more diverse and functional party.
Similarly, if they wanted to nerf it, then why not just drop the amount of gold and experience you got for each tier? It's just been a general sledgehammer to actual parties for the SM.

Yes and no. I am trying not to defend hard working grinders out there but there are not many SMs where you predominately spam Windmill to gain high yields of golds and exps at the same time.
On top of that, clearing BiTW int level was done under 5 mins for many grinders ( I am saying this but many do finish around in 3mins 30sec or less), it will take considerable amount of time for hard working grinders to adjust to a change in exp/gold income. Eventually, people will find adequate dung/SM for their grind session, but not massively yielding as BiTW and possibly have to change the grind style from repeated use of Windmill to a bit more dynamical plays.

My stance on BiTW is that the nerf was unavoidable and it came tiny bit late. It served as a good foundation for new comers to build a baseline of gold/exp income when it first released. Did it's job when server's peak population was 50-60 on Saturday and you couldn't find a consistent party for a grind at your power level. Now that average server population has changed and people can actually one shot mobs for a mass grind and so on, it did last long and potentially create harm on the newer player base who have recently joined.

I strongly urge you to reconsider the direction you've taken with the changes, which, in my opinion, have only crippled party-play with other people in the long run.

It really depends on who you are and how much you are opt-into solo or party play, some may balance it out. You cannot force every solo grinders into a party play everyday and vice versa.
I am sure that the history will repeat and there will be somewhat exploitable content to pop up because unbalance is the outcome of balancing in mmorpg. As for now, let's enjoy the new cor content because it nets good for sure.

Source: bitw int netted about 700k-1mil per hour with multi boxing. Considering ppl can grind for 2-4 hours a day, it did get kinda ridiculous.

Back to the update, thank GMs for the hard wok as always!

On another note, bitw monsters on int level give more exp then monsters on hardmode missions.
So its still a very good way to gain experience, only the gold was nerfed.
